Frequently Asked Questions

What adjustments are available?

35+ controls including exposure, brightness, contrast, highlights, shadows, whites, blacks, saturation, vibrance, hue, temperature, tint, clarity, sharpness, blur, fade, vignette, grain, glitch, duotone, split tone, color overlay, posterize, pixelate, threshold, emboss, edge detect, oil paint, and 24 Instagram-style presets.

What is the difference between clarity and sharpness?

Sharpness applies a standard unsharp mask that enhances all edges equally. Clarity applies a large-radius midtone contrast boost — it adds "pop" and depth without making edges overly crispy. Negative clarity creates a soft, dreamy look.

What is duotone?

Duotone converts your image to grayscale and maps dark tones to one colour and light tones to another. It's used for artistic two-colour looks and brand photography.

Does this affect image quality on export?

Exports are processed at full native resolution using the Canvas API. Quality loss only occurs if you choose JPG or WebP output and set quality below 100% — PNG is always lossless.

Is my image uploaded to a server?

No — all processing happens 100% in your browser using the Canvas ImageData API. Your photos never leave your device.

What is vibrance vs saturation?

Saturation uniformly boosts all colors. Vibrance is "smart saturation" — it boosts muted colors more while protecting already-saturated ones, giving a more natural result especially on skin tones.
