Frequently Asked Questions

How do I pick a color from an image?

Upload your image, then click anywhere on it. The HEX, RGB, HSL, HSV and CMYK values for that pixel are shown instantly in the sidebar. The zoom lens helps you pick individual pixels precisely.

What is dominant color palette extraction?

The Palette tool uses a median-cut algorithm to find the most visually prominent colors in your image. Choose 4–12 colors and click Extract Palette — it analyses the full image and groups similar colors together.

What is sample radius?

Sample radius averages colors over a small area instead of reading a single pixel. Set 3×3 or 5×5 to smooth out noise in photos — useful when the color you want is in a gradient or slightly textured area.

Can I copy the color codes?

Yes — click any color code row (HEX, RGB, HSL, CMYK) to copy it to your clipboard instantly. You can also export the full palette or history as a JSON file.

Is my image uploaded to a server?

No — all color picking and palette extraction happens 100% in your browser using the Canvas API and ImageData. Your images never leave your device.
