Frequently Asked Questions
Does the QR code update automatically as I type?
Yes — the QR code preview updates 200ms after you stop typing (debounced to avoid unnecessary renders). This real-time feedback helps you see immediately how your QR code changes as you modify content, colors, size, or style settings.
What browsers support this QR code generator?
The QR generator works in all modern browsers — Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge. QR decoding additionally requires Chrome 88+, Edge 88+, or Safari 17+ for BarcodeDetector API support. All other features including generation, logo embed, batch generation, and SVG export work in all modern browsers.
Can I change the QR code shape/style?
Yes — four module styles are available in the Customize panel: Square (standard, maximum compatibility), Rounded (softer look), Dots (modern circular modules), and Extra-Rounded (pill-shaped modules). Note that non-square styles may reduce scan reliability on some older readers — always test your customized QR before printing.
What size should my QR code be for printing?
For business cards (minimum scan distance ~15cm), use at least 2×2cm (approx. 200px at 96dpi). For A4 flyers, 3-5cm works well. For banners or signage scanned from a distance, use 10cm or larger. Use the SVG export for print as it scales to any size without quality loss. For digital use, 256-512px PNG is sufficient.
How many pixels should I set for my QR code?
The size slider goes from 100px to 1000px. For website/email use, 256px or 300px is standard. For high-quality print, set 600-800px and export as PNG, or better yet use SVG export which is resolution-independent. The Quiet Zone (margin) setting controls the white border — keep it at minimum 4 to ensure reliable scanning.
What is the session history feature?
The History tab stores the last 20 QR codes you downloaded during your current browser session. You can view thumbnails of all generated QRs, click Restore to reload any previous QR, or use the Compare feature to view two QR codes side by side. History clears when you close or refresh the tab.
